Processor & coresThe hybrid design splits the work: the Performance-cores provide the speed for demanding games and heavy applications, while low-priority and background tasks - such as streaming video, playing music and encoding media - are handled by the Efficient-cores. Intel Thread Director is built into the cores and works with the operating system to assign each of the 28 threads to the right core at the right time. Performance & clocksThe ability to direct background loads to the Efficient-cores reduces the strain on the Performance-cores in moments that do not call for peak output, leaving the Performance-cores free to hold higher clocks in games and heavy applications. Since this is an overclocking-friendly K chip supplied without a fan, getting the most out of those clocks depends on the cooling you pair with it. Platform & compatibilityThe processor is designed for the LGA1700 socket and includes 30MB of cache memory. It supports dual-channel DDR5-5600 memory and PCIe 5.0 and 4.0 lanes - up to sixteen 5.0 lanes and four 4.0 lanes, twenty lanes in total for high data throughput. The integrated Intel UHD 770 graphics is driven by Xe architecture and supports a single 8K display at 7680x4320 or up to four 4K screens at 3840x2160 with HDR. It also includes Gaussian & Neural Accelerator 3.0 and Intel Deep Learning Boost to assist with video and AI tasks.
