The white version of the Edifier R20 pair keeps the same guiding idea: quality sound from a small desk position. Purpose

The main goal of the R20 is to provide balanced, clear sound even when the ear is very close to the speaker. To achieve this, the system went through a near-field acoustic tune that refined the driver specification, the cabinet volume, the curve of the front panel, the Bass Reflex resonance frequency and the elevation angle. Together they keep the sound image steady at a short listening distance.

A body just about 8 cm wide lets you place the units in a narrow nook or on a busy table without taking unnecessary space. Since the Bass Reflex port is on the front, low frequencies stay full even when the speaker is up against a wall with no gap behind it.

Capabilities

Each unit runs a dedicated 2.75-inch (about 70 mm) driver that delivers present, noticeable bass, with a centre structure designed to lift the mid and high range and produce detail-rich sound. The pair is rated at 5W, in line with the loudness expected at a personal workstation.

Another aspect is the visual experience: built-in hidden light strips spread a colourful glow and create a play of light and shadow. You can move between lighting modes and tune the mood to your taste. An internal USB sound card makes connecting to a Computer easy, and settings are managed conveniently.

Connectivity & compatibility

Connectivity is based on Bluetooth 6.0, which offers a stable link, low latency and a broad reception range, with support for pairing two devices at once and switching comfortably between them. Beside the wireless link there is a USB sound card, channel switching, app-based adjustments and a flexible headphone interface.

The combination of dual pairing, an onboard sound card and a body suited to wall or desk placement lets the R20 serve a Computer, a mobile device and a tablet with the same ease.
