ATEN IC485SI RS-232 to RS-485/422 Interface Converter

The ATEN IC485SI is a bi-directional interface converter that turns the RS-232 signals of a computer, controller or serial device into RS-485 or RS-422 signals and back. It is designed for industrial and control applications that need to carry serial data over distances of up to 1200 m.

The RS-232 side has a female DB-25 connector, and the other side has a 4-pin terminal block with a grounding tab. The converter provides signal and power isolation, switches for operating modes and DCE/DTE selection, and comes with a power adapter.

• Up to 1200 m - RS-485 and RS-422 let you connect remote devices over cable runs of up to 1200 m, at up to 100Kbps at the maximum distance.
• RTS-controlled transmission - Data transmission is controlled by the RTS signal, with TxON/RxON, TxRTS/RxRTS and TxRTS/RxON modes.
• Point-to-point or multidrop - Supports point-to-point and multidrop links, simplex or duplex: four-wire full duplex or two-wire half duplex.
• DCE/DTE selectable - A switch selects DCE or DTE mode, so the converter connects directly to a computer or a device.
• Signal and power isolation - Isolation between the RS-232 and RS-485 sides protects the equipment, and the grounding tab improves signal stability.
