The St-Lab S-390 turns an M.2 NVMe SSD into a fast external drive. It runs USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 with an ASMedia ASM2364 controller and, on a USB 20Gbps port, reaches transfer rates of up to 20Gbps.

It is aimed at content creators, photographers and videographers who offload and back up large high-resolution media libraries, and at anyone who wants fast external backup. It also works on USB 10Gbps, 5Gbps and USB 2.0 ports at the speed of the port.

The aluminum body has an integrated ribbed heatsink with a large surface that dissipates heat and prevents throttling during long transfers. Installation is tool-less and driver-free, so drives can be swapped quickly. The SSD is not included and is purchased separately.
