Case for SSD disk Terramaster D4 SSD

Terramaster D4 SSD 4-Bay USB4 M.2 NVMe SSD Enclosure

The TerraMaster D4 SSD is an external enclosure for four M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs, connected over USB4 at up to 40Gbps. It is compatible with Thunderbolt 3, 4 and 5 and with USB 3.0, 3.1 and 3.2, and supports PCIe 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0 drives.

It suits content creators, photographers and video editors who need fast, high-capacity external storage, for example for heavy projects and work backup. Up to four drives of 8TB each can be installed, for up to 32TB in total. The enclosure has no built-in RAID: each drive is shown separately, and a RAID can be created in software on the computer.

Cooling is handled by a second-generation smart fan system with four temperature sensors, and system noise in standby with M.2 drives is 19.0 dB(A). The enclosure is powered by a 24W adapter.

Key features

• Four M.2 NVMe slots - Supports M.2 2280 NVMe drives in PCIe 3.0, 4.0 and 5.0, up to four independent drives in a single enclosure.

• Up to 32TB capacity - Four drives of 8TB each, according to the manufacturer.
• Speed depends on configuration - According to the manufacturer, a single 4TB Samsung 990 Pro reaches about 1600 MB/s read and 1500 MB/s write, and four drives in RAID 0 reach up to 3257 MB/s read and 3192 MB/s write.
• Smart cooling - Two 50 x 50 x 10 mm fans, four temperature sensors and a smart fan mode that adjusts speed to the heat.
• No built-in RAID - The enclosure shows each drive separately. To configure a RAID, use third-party software over USB4 or Thunderbolt.
