ATEN US234 2x4 USB 3.2 Gen1 Peripheral Sharing Switch

The ATEN US234 is a peripheral sharing switch that connects two computers to four shared USB devices, such as a printer, scanner, external drive, HD camera or USB docking station. Instead of unplugging and replugging cables, you press the remote port selector and the devices move to the other computer.

The switch is USB 3.2 Gen1 compliant and transfers data at up to 5Gbps, with backward compatibility for USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. It is powered by the computer's USB connection and has a Micro USB jack for an additional power supply when devices draw more current. No drivers are needed, and it works with Windows, macOS and Linux.

Key features

• 4 devices, 2 computers - Four shared USB Type-A ports for two computers: a keyboard, mouse, printer, external drive or camera moves between the computers with one press.
• USB 3.2 Gen1 at 5Gbps - Transfer rates of up to 5Gbps suit high-bandwidth devices such as USB docking stations and HD cameras, with backward compatibility for USB 2.0 and USB 1.1.
• Remote port selector - A selector on a 1.8 m cable lets you place the switch under the desk and keep only the button on the desktop. Two white LEDs show which computer is active.
• Bus or external power - The switch is bus-powered, and a Micro USB jack accepts an additional power supply when needed.
• Plug and play, no drivers - Hot pluggable, no software installation, and support for Windows, macOS and Linux. Over-current protection keeps devices and computers safe.
