The St-Lab U-871 is a USB 3.0 hub that adds seven fast USB-A ports to a computer through a single USB connection. It is built on a VL817 controller, transfers data at up to 5Gbps and supports simultaneous operation of USB 3.0, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1 devices.

The hub needs no drivers, supports hot-swapping without powering down the computer and has a power LED. It also has a power jack and a power switch for use when the connected devices draw more current than the computer's port can supply. According to the manufacturer, the power adapter is optional.
