IPPON mSATA x2 to 2.5" 7mm Raid Adapter

The IPPON IPST-178 lets you fit two full-size mSATA SSDs into a 7 mm, 2.5-inch drive frame and connect them to a desktop or laptop like a regular SATA drive. It follows the mechanical specification of a 2.5-inch drive and connects through a standard 22-pin SATA connector (signal and power).

A 6Gbps SATA III hardware RAID controller supports RAID 1 (mirroring), SPAN (one big drive) and PM (two separate drives) modes. The adapter is transparent to the operating system, needs no driver, works with Windows, Mac and Linux, and can serve as the boot drive.

• Two mSATA drives as one 2.5-inch drive - The adapter converts two full-size mSATA SSDs into a single 2.5-inch SATA drive, 7 mm thick.
• Hardware RAID - The SATA III 6Gbps controller supports RAID 1, SPAN (Big Drive) and PM (2 Drives) modes. PM mode needs a host SATA connection that supports Port Multiplier.
• Screwless latches - The mSATA connectors on the board have latches, so no screws are needed to hold the SSDs.
• Standard metal frame - The adapter comes in a 7 mm metal frame with 8 mounting holes and 4 screws, and fits a 2.5-inch drive bay.
• No drivers - The adapter is transparent to the operating system, works with Windows, Mac and Linux, and the mSATA SSDs can be the primary boot device.
