| Revew | WD Purple 8TB 3.5" SATA3 Surveillance Hard DriveThe 8TB WD Purple is a 3.5-inch hard drive designed specifically for video recording in surveillance systems that run 24/7. Unlike an average desktop drive, which is meant to operate only for short stretches, this drive is built for the continuous and demanding workload of a security system. Capacity & interfaceThe drive offers 8TB of storage over a SATA3 interface, a volume well suited to retaining large amounts of recorded video over time. The ample capacity lets you record a long stretch of footage from several cameras without quickly reaching the limit of free space in the system. SpeedThe drive is tuned for continuous recording of video streams, and the exclusive AllFrame technology helps reduce frame loss and improve the overall viewing experience. The result is smoother and more reliable footage, even when several cameras are streaming data to the drive at the same time. Form factor & useThe 3.5-inch form factor is meant for installation in DVR and NVR systems and dedicated enclosures, and the SATA3 interface ensures broad compatibility with a wide range of security systems. The drive is tested for fit with such systems, making it a reliable surveillance-grade storage solution for environments that operate without interruption.
