Fractal Design North XL Computer Case in Charcoal Black with Dark Glass

The Fractal Design North XL takes the natural design language of the North line and stretches it into a generous full-size format. Its charcoal front blends FSC-certified wood slats with a dark tempered glass panel, so the case settles into a living space as a piece of decor rather than just a box of components. Inside waits a roomy layout aimed at flexible builds and serious airflow.

Build & form factor

This is a large-format chassis measuring W=240 H=509 D=503 mm, and it accepts full E-ATX boards as well as ATX, mATX and mITX. The finish is Charcoal Black, and the front in FSC-certified oak or walnut wood together with a leather-look tab gives each unit a distinctive character. Getting inside is easy: the side panels lift off, the front opens up and the top panel releases via an integrated tab.

Cooling & expansion

The interior layout is built around natural ventilation: air enters through the open front and exits through the stylishly integrated top mesh panel. The case ships with three Aspect 14 PWM fans pre-installed, and there is room for up to eight 140 mm or nine 120 mm fans. Liquid-cooling support covers a front radiator up to 420 mm and a top radiator up to 360 mm.

Thanks to the large volume you can fit a graphics card up to 413 mm long, or up to 380 mm with a 420 mm front radiator installed, so even high-performance gaming configurations slot in comfortably.

Assembly & cable management

The front I/O panel carries three USB ports, including USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C at speeds up to 20Gbps. The intuitive layout, removable panels and easy access to the various sections make assembly and cable routing straightforward, while the mesh edition adds a full side mesh panel on top of the upper one to boost airflow further.
