Noctua NF-R8 redux-1200 Case Fan

The Noctua NF-R8 redux-1200 is the redux edition of the classic NF-R8 80mm fan, built around the SSO bearing and the Smooth Commutation Drive 2 motor. The 1200 RPM version is made for near-silent operation: the maximum noise level is only 9.1 dB(A) with an airflow of 35.8 m³/h.

It suits small cases, home servers and any build that needs a quiet 80mm fan. The fan connects with a 3-pin plug that reports RPM to the motherboard, draws only 0.264W in typical use and comes with mounting screws. Its MTTF rating exceeds 150,000 hours.

Key features

• Near-silent operation - At its top speed of 1200 RPM the fan produces only 9.1 dB(A), ideal for noise-sensitive users.
• SSO bearing - A hydrodynamic bearing with an extra magnet that stabilises the rotor axis, for quiet long-term operation and an MTTF of over 150,000 hours.
• Smooth Commutation Drive 2 - The drive system eliminates torque variations and switching noise, so the fan stays quiet even at close range.
• Proven NF-R8 design - The redux edition keeps the NF-R8 fan itself and drops the extra accessories for a more accessible price.
• Low power draw - 0.264W in typical use and 0.42W at most, with a simple 3-pin connection to the motherboard.
