CPU Cooling Noctua NH-L9A-AM4

Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 CPU Cooler

The Noctua NH-L9a-AM4 is the latest revision of the NH-L9a low-profile cooler, customised for the AMD AM4 socket. At only 37mm tall it is meant for HTPCs and slim Small Form Factor cases, and its small footprint keeps it fully compatible with RAM and PCIe cards.

The SecuFirm2 mounting system for AM4 makes installation easy, and the 92mm NF-A9x14 HS-PWM fan adjusts its speed automatically through PWM and runs quietly. Noctua NT-H1 thermal compound is included. The manufacturer notes that the cooler is not suitable for CPUs that create high heat loads.

Key features

• 37mm total height - A slim 23mm heatsink and a fan only 14mm thick suit slim cases and HTPCs that leave minimal clearance above the CPU.
• Full RAM compatibility - The small footprint complies with the keep-out zone specified by AMD around the socket, so neither the heatsink nor the fan overhang the RAM and tall modules can be used.
• Full PCIe compatibility on mini-ITX - On mini-ITX boards where the PCIe slot sits close to the socket, the compact cooler does not block the slot and leaves easy access to connectors near the socket.
• NF-A9x14 HS-PWM fan - A premium 92mm fan with Noctua AAO frame and fully automatic speed control through PWM, which keeps the cooler quiet. An NA-RC7 Low-Noise Adaptor is included.
• Easy installation and thermal compound - A dedicated SecuFirm2 system for AM4 and the NT-H1 compound in the box let you finish the installation quickly.
