| Revew | Creative Sound Blaster AE-X PCIe Sound CardThe Sound Blaster AE-X is an internal PCIe sound card that replaces the motherboard's onboard audio with a higher quality signal path. At its core is an ESS ES9039Q2M DAC with a 130dB dynamic range, playing PCM up to 32-bit/384kHz and DSD up to DSD256. The built-in headphone amplifier delivers up to 350mW at 32 ohms and drives headphones from 8 to 600 ohms. The card offers RCA speaker outputs, a coaxial output, an optical input, a headphone jack and a mic input, with ASIO 2.3 and WASAPI support.

- Desktop-ready connections - RCA speaker outputs, coaxial S/PDIF out, TOSLINK optical in, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a 3.5 mm mic/line input. An HD Audio header also feeds the case front panel.
- 7.1 virtual surround - A 7.1 virtual surround mode widens the soundstage in games, movies and music.
- Parametric EQ and AutoEq - The Creative app lets you tune the sound with a parametric EQ and Acoustic Engine, and use AutoEq to match supported headphones. Profiles can be saved, imported and shared.
