The Gigabyte B840 GAMING X WiFi6E is an ATX board based on the AMD B840 chipset and AM5 socket, made for AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors. It leans toward gaming with a wide digital power stage, a reinforced PCIe slot for the graphics card and fast Wi-Fi 6E connectivity.

The board supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 CPUs through the AM5 socket and is based on the B840 chipset with an X3D Turbo Mode for a new generation of gaming performance. A friendly user interface provides multiple themes, AIO fan control and Q-Flash Auto Scan in BIOS and software.

Memory & expansion

Memory runs in Dual Channel DDR5 across four DIMM slots with AMD EXPO support, and the D5 Bionic Corsa technology targets powerful memory performance. The PCIe UD x16 slot is reinforced to 10x strength for graphics cards with improved heat dissipation, and the EZ-Latch Plus mechanism enables quick, screwless release of the PCIe and M.2 slots. Three M.2 slots are available, including two in PCIe 4.0 x4.

Power, cooling & connectivity

The power system is built with a digital VRM in a 12+2+2 phase arrangement for maximum stability. Thermal management includes VRM Thermal Armor Advanced and an M.2 Thermal Guard to keep temperatures optimal. Connectivity covers a wired 2.5GbE network, wireless Wi-Fi 6E with easy WiFi EZ-Plug antenna fitting, and HDMI plus DisplayPort outputs.
