| Revew | Gigabyte X870 GAMING WiFi6 MotherboardThe Gigabyte X870 GAMING WiFi6 is an ATX motherboard for the AM5 socket, built for AMD Ryzen 7000, 8000 and 9000 series processors. It is based on the AMD X870 chipset and supports DDR5 memory in four slots, up to 256GB and up to 8200 MT/s (OC) with AMD EXPO and XMP profiles. According to the manufacturer, the board uses a Twin 8+2+2 digital VRM with VRM Thermal Armor Advanced heatsinks. It offers a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot, three M.2 slots (one PCIe 5.0 x4), two USB4 Type-C ports with DisplayPort output, 2.5GbE LAN and Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.3.
Key features- PCIe 5.0 for graphics and storage - A PCIe 5.0 x16 PCIe UD Slot and a PCIe 5.0 x4 M.2 slot are wired directly to the CPU (with Ryzen 7000 and 9000). Two PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots and two PCIe 3.0 x1 slots complete the layout.
- Fast DDR5 memory - Four dual-channel DDR5 slots take up to 256GB at up to 8200 MT/s (OC). The board supports both AMD EXPO and XMP profiles, so full memory speed is easy to enable in the BIOS.
- Two USB4 ports - Two USB4 Type-C ports at up to 40Gb/s with DisplayPort output, plus HDMI 2.1, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, three USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports and four USB 2.0 ports. An internal header adds a 20Gb/s front USB-C port.
- Networking and wireless - Realtek 2.5GbE LAN and a Wi-Fi 6 module with Bluetooth 5.3. The WIFI EZ-Plug connector combines the antenna plugs into a single adapter for quick installation.
- Efficient cooling - VRM Thermal Armor Advanced heatsinks over the MOSFETs, 5 W/mK thermal pads and an M.2 Thermal Guard heatsink. Smart Fan 6 controls six fan and pump headers with a dual fan curve mode.
- Screwless assembly - EZ-Latch Plus releases the graphics card and M.2 drives without screws, EZ-Latch Click holds the M.2 heatsinks without screws, the I/O shield is integrated, and the rear Q-Flash Plus button updates the BIOS.
