MAXSUN iCraft Z890 VERTEX LGA1851 ATX Motherboard

The iCraft Z890 VERTEX is an ATX board on Intel's top-tier Z890 chipset, with an emphasis on flexible PCIe 5.0 lanes, broad M.2 storage and very fast USB connectivity. It is aimed at builders who want a connection-rich Core Ultra platform with synchronized RGB lighting.

Platform & chipset

The board uses the LGA1851 socket to support Core Ultra processors as well as Pentium Gold and Celeron chips, on the Z890 chipset. Its ATX format, at 305 by 245 mm, leaves room for expansion slots and cooling arrays. Build- and maintenance-friendly features include BIOS Flash, onboard Power, Reset and RGB buttons, and Resizable BAR support.

Memory & expansion

The board supports dual-channel DDR5 up to 128GB and speeds reaching 9000MHz in overclock mode, including Intel XMP profile support. For expansion there is a PCIe 5.0 x16 slot that can run as x16 or split into x8+x8, alongside a PCIe 5.0 x8 slot and a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot. Storage is especially broad: four M.2 connectors across PCIe 5.0 and PCIe 4.0, four SATA 6Gb/s ports, and two SFF-8654 4i interfaces.

Power, cooling & connectivity

On the connection front the board offers a rich USB layout: the rear panel carries two USB Type-C ports at 40Gbps and nine USB Type-A ports at 10Gbps, while the front offers a 20Gbps USB Type-C connector and a 5Gbps USB port that can expand to two more, alongside USB 2.0 connectors. Networking includes a 5Gb Ethernet link plus Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4, audio is based on a high-quality Realtek ALC1220 codec, and Maxsun Sync RGB lighting allows system-wide lighting synchronization.
