Gigabyte Z590 AORUS ULTRA Motherboard

The Gigabyte Z590 AORUS ULTRA is an ATX motherboard for the LGA1200 socket, built for 11th and 10th Gen Intel Core processors. It is based on the Intel Z590 chipset and supports DDR4 memory in four slots, up to 128GB and up to 5400 MHz (OC) with 11th Gen processors and XMP profiles.

According to the manufacturer, the board uses a 16+1 phase digital VRM with 90A Smart Power Stages and NanoCarbon Fins-Array II cooling with a direct-touch heatpipe. With an 11th Gen processor the main PCIe slots and one M.2 slot run at PCIe 4.0, and the board adds Intel 2.5GbE LAN, Wi-Fi 6 with Bluetooth 5.1 and a 20Gb/s rear USB-C port.

Key features

• 16+1 phase digital VRM - 16 phases with 90A Smart Power Stages each, a digital PWM controller and a Tantalum Polymer capacitor array deliver stable power even when overclocking. The two 8-pin CPU power connectors use solid pins with metal shielding.
• PCIe 4.0 with 11th Gen CPUs - Two x16 slots with Ultra Durable armor run at x16 or x8/x8 in PCIe 4.0 mode, and the CPU-connected M.2 slot takes PCIe 4.0 x4 drives. A third x16-length slot runs at PCIe 3.0 x4.
• Three M.2 slots and six SATA ports - Three M.2 slots for NVMe drives up to 22110 length with enlarged M.2 Thermal Guard heatsinks, plus six SATA 6Gb/s ports with RAID 0, 1, 5 and 10 and Intel Optane Memory support.
• Advanced cooling - NanoCarbon Fins-Array II heatsinks, a Direct-Touch Heatpipe II and 7.5 W/mK LAIRD thermal pads keep the power components cool. The board is built on a 6-layer 2X Copper PCB.
• Fast networking and USB - Intel 2.5GbE LAN, an Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 module with Bluetooth 5.1 and an AORUS antenna, a 20Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2x2 rear USB-C port and an internal header for front USB-C. Two Thunderbolt add-in card connectors are also on board.
• Audio, lighting and BIOS - A Realtek ALC4080 codec with DTS:X Ultra and WIMA capacitors, an optical S/PDIF output and RGB Fusion 2.0 lighting with two ARGB and two RGB headers. The Q-Flash Plus button updates the BIOS without a CPU, memory or graphics card.
