iStarUSA 5.25" to 6x2.5" SATA 6 Gbps HDD SSD Hot-swap Rack BPU-126-SA

iStarUSA 5.25" to 6x2.5" SATA 6 Gbps HDD SSD Hot-swap Rack

The iStarUSA BPU-126-SA turns a free 5.25-inch bay in a PC or server chassis into six hot-swap bays for 2.5-inch SATA hard drives or SSDs. Drives can be added or removed without powering off or restarting the system.

The all-aluminum body dissipates heat well, and two built-in 40 mm fans cool the drives. A mechanical lock keeps the drives in place, and LEDs show power and drive activity. With a separate SATA RAID controller you can build RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 or JBOD arrays.

Key features

• 6 drives in one 5.25-inch bay - Supports six 2.5-inch HDDs or SSDs up to 9.5 mm high with SATA I, SATA II or SATA III interfaces.
• Hot-swap - Removable trays let you insert and remove drives without shutting down the system, Plug & Play, with transfer rates up to 6Gb/s.
• Aluminum body and two fans - All-aluminum construction for heat dissipation and two built-in 40 mm fans keep drive temperatures in check.
• Mechanical lock - A mechanical lock keeps the drives inside the unit and prevents them from being pulled out while running.
• LED indicators - Two-color LEDs show power and drive activity, and a switch on the rear configures the activity LEDs.
• RAID ready - Use each drive individually or build RAID 0, RAID 1, RAID 5 or JBOD arrays. RAID requires a separate SATA RAID controller card.
