| Revew | LSI MegaRAID SAS 9266-8i RAID ControllerThe LSI MegaRAID SAS 9266-8i is a server RAID controller with eight internal 6Gb/s SATA+SAS ports, built for databases, digital media and other applications that need high I/O performance. It is based on the LSI SAS2208 chip with two 800MHz PowerPC cores and 1GB of DDR3 cache. The controller supports RAID 0, 1, 5 and 6 and the spanned levels 10, 50 and 60, and works with up to 128 SAS and SATA hard drives or SSDs. The card has a low-profile form factor, and CacheVault flash protection or a battery backup unit can be added for the cache.

- Cache data protection - An optional CacheVault module (LSICVM01) with NAND flash and a super-capacitor, or an LSIiBBU09 battery, keeps write-back data safe during a power failure.
- RAID levels and array features - RAID 0, 1, 5, 6 and spans 10, 50 and 60, online capacity expansion, RAID level migration, global and dedicated hot spares, patrol read and background consistency check.
- SSD acceleration - Support for the optional MegaRAID CacheCade software, which uses SSDs as a cache in front of hard drives, and MegaRAID FastPath for SSD arrays.
- Easy management - The MegaRAID Management Suite includes MegaRAID Storage Manager, MegaCLI and WebBIOS for local or network management.
