The SanDisk microSD Express 256GB (SDSQXFN-256G-GN6GN) is a next-generation microSDXC card with a PCIe 3.1 NVMe interface alongside the standard microSD UHS-I interface. According to the manufacturer, read speeds are up to 3.5 times faster than the company's fastest microSD UHS-I cards, reaching 880MB/s.

The card reaches write speeds of up to 650MB/s and a minimum sustained write speed of 210MB/s. It is made for handheld gaming consoles where load times matter, as well as action cameras, drones and laptops, and for creators who capture high-resolution video and move large amounts of files. ThermAdapt technology helps keep the device from overheating.

The card is backward compatible with devices that have a microSD UHS-I or UHS-II slot, but in such devices it runs at UHS-I speeds. Maximum speeds are available only in a device that supports microSD Express. The card resists water, temperature, humidity, drops, shock, magnetic fields and X-rays.
