Storage Server Terramaster F2-424 2-BAY NAS N95 8GB DDR5 2.5GbE F2-424

Terramaster F2-424 2-Bay NAS Server (Intel N95, 8GB DDR5, 2.5GbE)

The Terramaster F2-424 is a network-attached storage (NAS) server with two bays for SATA drives, built around a quad-core Intel N95 processor at up to 3.4GHz and 8GB of DDR5 memory that can be upgraded to 32GB. It belongs to the 424 series and offers considerably more performance than the manufacturer's ARM-based models.

It suits home users and small businesses that need central backup, fast file sharing and media streaming. Two 2.5GbE ports support Link Aggregation up to 5Gb, and two M.2 NVMe slots allow adding an SSD cache that speeds up access to frequently used files. Hardware video transcoding handles H.264 and H.265 up to 4K at 60FPS.

The enclosure supports drives of up to 22TB per bay, which means up to 44TB of raw capacity, with trays that release without tools. In standby the noise level is 19.0 dB(A), and power draw during read and write is about 22W. There is also an HDMI 2.0b output and two USB 3.2 ports at 10Gbps.

Key features

• Intel N95 processor - Four cores at up to 3.4GHz, a hardware encryption engine and hardware video transcoding for H.264, H.265, MPEG-4 and VC-1 up to 4K at 60FPS.
• DDR5 memory - 8GB of non-ECC DDR5 with one SODIMM slot, upgradeable to 32GB.
• Two 2.5GbE ports - Two 2.5GbE network ports with Link Aggregation up to 5Gb. In the manufacturer's test, speeds of up to 283MB/s were reached with two 18TB NAS drives in RAID 0.
• Two M.2 NVMe cache slots - M.2 2280 slots behind a sliding cover with hand-tightened screws make it quick to install SSDs for caching.
• Tool-free trays and backup - Drive trays that release without tools with a Push-Lock design, and backup apps such as Centralized Backup, Duple Backup, Snapshot, CloudSync and TFM Backup.
• Connections - Two USB 3.2 ports at 10Gbps and an HDMI 2.0b output.
