The Verbatim External Slimline CD/DVD Writer is the perfect solution for laptops and modern Computers that no longer include a built-in optical drive. In an ultra-slim brushed-metal enclosure with a convenient USB-C connection, it lets you read and burn CDs and DVDs anywhere - to install software, watch media and, above all, to back up and archive important data. It is compact, light and powered by the connection itself.

Compact and USB-Powered

At just 11mm thick, the enclosure is barely larger than a disc and weighs only around 237 grams - easy to carry in a laptop bag. The writer connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1 and draws power directly from the USB port, so there is no bulky external power adapter to deal with. A USB-C to USB-A cable and a USB-A to USB-C adapter are included, so it fits Computers with both newer and older ports.

Burning, Backup and Archiving

The drive reads and writes a wide range of media - DVD (including 8.5GB Double Layer), DVD+R/-R, DVD-RW and CD-R/RW discs. Write speeds reach up to 8x for DVD and up to 24x for CD. It is fully compliant with MDISC archiving technology for long-term data preservation, and includes Nero Burn & Archive software with tools to organize, burn and protect your files (available for Windows).
