Western Digital My Passport for Mac 5TB Blue Portable Hard Drive

The Western Digital My Passport for Mac is a 5TB portable hard drive that comes ready to use with Mac computers. The slim midnight blue enclosure slips easily into a bag and holds a large collection of photos, videos, music and documents.

The drive connects over USB 3.2 Gen 1 at up to 5Gb/s, and the box includes a USB-A cable and a USB-C adapter, so it works with both new and older Macs. Password protection and 256-bit AES hardware encryption help keep files private, and downloadable software lets you manage the drive and back up your computer.

Key features

• Mac-ready - The drive works with macOS 11 and later right after you plug it in. Drag and drop files or set up regular backups with Time Machine.
• USB-A and USB-C - A SuperSpeed USB-A cable (5Gbps) and a USB-A to USB-C adapter are included, so the drive connects to computers with either type of port.
• Password protection and encryption - Built-in 256-bit AES hardware encryption and password protection through Western Digital software help prevent unauthorized access to your files.

• Backup with ransomware protection - Acronis True Image for Western Digital (download) lets you schedule backups and adds protection against ransomware attacks.
• Works with Windows too - A downloadable HFS+ driver lets Windows 10 and later computers read and write to the drive without reformatting it.
• Slim and portable - It measures 107.2 x 75 x 19.2 mm and weighs about 0.21 kg. The enclosure is made of more than 50% recycled plastic.
