Seagate SkyHawk 4TB Internal Hard Drive

Seagate SkyHawk is a 3.5-inch hard drive purpose-built for NVRs and DVRs in video surveillance systems. Model ST4000VX016 offers 4TB of capacity, 256MB of cache, a SATA 6Gb/s interface, CMR recording and a sustained transfer rate of up to 180MB/s.

ImagePerfect firmware is designed to ensure seamless footage capture in 24x7 workloads from up to 64 HD cameras, and built-in rotational vibration (RV) sensors maintain performance in systems with up to 16 drive bays. The drive is rated for 180TB per year and 1,000,000 hours MTBF, and includes SkyHawk Health Management to help protect your video storage.

Key features

• ImagePerfect firmware - Firmware designed to ensure seamless video capture in 24x7 workloads, with ATA streaming support for smooth, uninterrupted recording from up to 64 HD cameras.
• SkyHawk Health Management - Focuses on prevention, intervention and recovery to protect your video storage, and includes RAID RapidRebuild for volume rebuilds up to 3 times faster than traditional RAID rebuilds.
• RV sensors for multi-bay systems - Built-in rotational vibration sensors maintain performance in multi-drive systems with up to 16 bays, so you can scale when more storage is needed.
• Reliability for continuous operation - A 1,000,000 hour MTBF, workloads of up to 180TB per year and 600,000 load/unload cycles. Tarnish-resistant components help protect the drive from environmental elements.
• Lower power consumption - An average of 3.7W in operation and 2.5W at idle reduces heat output, which improves reliability in surveillance solutions.
