Toshiba N300 NAS 6TB Internal Hard Drive

The Toshiba N300 6TB is a 3.5-inch hard drive designed for NAS servers and RAID systems that run around the clock. It spins at 7200 rpm, uses CMR recording and has a 512MB cache.

Model MN10ADA600S is the bulk version, without retail packaging, and fits NAS enclosures with up to 8 bays. Rotational vibration (RV) sensors and a shock sensor are built in, and the rated workload is up to 180TB per year.

Key features

• Built for NAS - Designed for 24/7 operation in home, office and small business NAS servers, desktop RAID and private cloud storage, with support for 1 to 8 drive enclosures.
• Rotational vibration sensors - RV sensors detect and compensate for vibration in multi-drive enclosures to keep performance stable when several drives work together.
• 7200 rpm and 512MB cache - Sustained transfer rate of up to 281MB/s. Toshiba Dynamic Cache Technology manages cache allocation during reads and writes, even when several users access data at once.

• NASLink firmware - The firmware adapts drive behavior to mixed backup, file sharing and streaming workloads and improves coordination between drives in a RAID array.
• Long-term reliability - Workload of up to 180TB per year, 1,000,000 hours MTTF and an unrecoverable error rate of 1 per 10^15 bits. Automatic seek speed adjustment reduces heat at high temperatures.
• Power and noise - 8.19W during operation and 4.92W in active idle, with an idle noise level of 34dB.
