Internal Hard Drive Western Digital Black WD4005FZBX 3.5" 4TB SATA 3

Western Digital Black WD4005FZBX 4TB Internal Hard Drive

The WD4005FZBX is a 4TB internal hard drive from the Western Digital WD Black series, aimed at high-performance desktop PCs. It comes in the 3.5-inch format with a SATA 6Gb/s interface, a 7200 RPM class spindle speed and a 256MB cache. The 4TB figure is the manufacturer's nominal capacity in decimal units; operating systems usually display a smaller value because they count in binary units.

The high spindle speed and large cache allow quick loading of games, applications and work files, with an internal data rate of 202 MB/s. The drive uses CMR recording technology.

The drive suits gaming PCs, creative work and photo and video editing on a desktop, as a large data drive alongside an SSD. It is not recommended for business RAID arrays or multi-bay NAS enclosures. The drive connects with a SATA data cable and a standard SATA power connector, and it can be installed in any computer or enclosure with a 3.5-inch bay. The SATA 6Gb/s interface is backward compatible with older SATA connections. Before installing it in a NAS or server, check the system manufacturer's compatibility list and back up any existing data.
