Internal Hard Drive Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC590 26TB WUH722626ALE6L4 3.5" 26TB

Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC590 26TB 3.5" SATA Data Center HDD

The Western Digital Ultrastar DC HC590 (WUH722626ALE6L4) is a 26TB 3.5-inch hard drive for servers and data centers, built on the world's first 11-disk HDD platform with CMR recording. It is helium filled (HelioSeal), spins at 7200RPM, has a 512MB cache and reaches sustained transfer rates of up to 302MB/s over SATA 6Gb/s.

The drive is rated for 24x7 operation with a 550TB per year workload and 2.5 million hours MTBF, and it uses OptiNAND, ArmorCache and Rotational Vibration Safeguard technologies. This version is a SATA 512e model in the Base (SE) configuration without encryption, with legacy pin 3 (no Power Disable).

Key features

• 26TB on 11 disks - The world's first 11-disk HDD platform, with CMR recording and ePMR technology, raises storage density without taking more rack space.
• HelioSeal - Helium filling lowers internal friction and operating temperature, and idle power is only 5.6W (0.22W per TB).
• OptiNAND - Integrated iNAND flash handles internal housekeeping tasks, freeing up capacity and improving drive performance.
• ArmorCache - Choose write cache disabled (WCD) mode for higher random write performance, or write cache enabled (WCE) mode to protect cached data during a sudden power loss.
• Vibration protection - Rotational Vibration Safeguard with dual sensors and Dynamic Fly Height keep performance and reliability high in environments with vibration and shock.
• Built for continuous operation - 24x7 availability, a 550TB per year workload rating, 2.5 million hours MTBF and a 0.35% AFR.
