Hard Disk Seagate SkyHawk AI ST8000VE001

Seagate SkyHawk AI 8TB 7200RPM 3.5" SATA3 Smart Surveillance Hard Drive

The 8TB Seagate SkyHawk AI is a 3.5-inch hard drive designed specifically for video-based analytics and smart monitoring systems. It supports running video streams and AI streams in parallel and is intended for continuous operation in advanced security environments.

Capacity & interface

The drive offers 8TB of storage over a SATA3 interface, a volume suited to continuous video recording and to retaining large amounts of captured footage. The ample capacity allows it to handle up to 64 HD video streams plus up to 32 AI streams at once, without quickly reaching the system's space limit.

Speed

A 7200 RPM spindle speed and a 256MB cache support heavier workloads. ImagePerfect AI firmware delivers zero dropped frames, providing smooth and reliable recording and playback even when a large number of cameras and analytics streams are active at the same time.

Form factor & use

The 3.5-inch form factor is meant for installation in security systems and dedicated enclosures, and the SATA3 interface ensures broad compatibility. The drive is engineered for very high reliability with 2 million hours MTBF and a workload rate of up to 550TB per year - more than three times that of standard surveillance drives - making it suitable for AI environments that demand continuous operation and high data quality.
