WD_BLACK 6TB 7200RPM 3.5" SATA3 Gaming Hard Drive

The 6TB WD_BLACK is a 3.5-inch mechanical hard drive aimed squarely at gamers who need a lot of room. A 7200 RPM spindle and a 256MB cache give it solid responsiveness alongside generous capacity, so an entire game library can live in one place.

Capacity & interface

The drive offers 6TB of storage over a SATA3 interface, letting you install a broad mix of large game titles without constantly deleting things to free space. That high capacity makes it an ideal secondary drive next to a fast system disk: the games and heavy files sit here while the operating system runs elsewhere.

Speed

At 7200 RPM the spindle speed is relatively high for a drive of this size, and combined with the 256MB cache it improves load times and the retrieval of large game assets. The result is a comfortable balance between read/write performance and ample volume, without giving up either one.

Form factor & use

The 3.5-inch form factor fits a standard drive bay in a desktop, and the SATA3 interface ensures wide compatibility with virtually any modern motherboard. Its main purpose is storing games and expanding the content library in a gaming or home-media PC, wherever a mix of lots of space and steady performance is required.
