| Revew | Crucial E100 480GB - An Affordable NVMe Gen4 Drive for Everyday UpgradesThe Crucial E100 in 480GB is an internal NVMe SSD that connects through an M.2 slot and runs on the PCIe Gen4 interface. It is a convenient way to replace an old mechanical disk or upgrade an existing system, delivering short load times and a snappier experience in everyday use. Capacity & interfaceThe drive offers 480GB of capacity and runs on a PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface to the NVMe 1.4 standard. The direct connection to the motherboard through M.2 removes the need for separate data and power cables, and provides high bandwidth compared with SATA-based drives. PerformanceThe drive reaches read speeds of up to 4,700 MB/s and write speeds of up to 2,500 MB/s. This performance delivers a noticeable upgrade over a mechanical drive, with faster system startup, quick application launches and smooth everyday file transfers. Form factor & useThe drive is built in the M.2 2280 layout and based on 3D NAND memory. The small, slim form factor saves space inside the case and allows a clean, cable-free installation, making it a fitting choice for upgrading supporting laptops and desktops and for users who prefer quiet, durable storage with no moving parts.
