Crucial P510 1TB PCIe 5.0 M.2 SSD

The Crucial P510 is a PCIe 5.0 SSD from Crucial, designed to bring Gen5 speeds to laptops and desktops at a more accessible price. The 1TB model comes without a heatsink, in the standard M.2 2280 format.

The drive is built on a DRAM-less Phison E31T controller and Micron G9 3D NAND, and suits game loading, work with large video files and upgrading an older system. It is backward compatible with older PCIe generations, depending on the capabilities of the motherboard.

Key features

• PCIe 5.0 x4 interface - Sequential reads of up to 11,000MB/s and sequential writes of up to 9,500MB/s, several times the speed of a SATA drive and much faster than PCIe 4.0 drives.
• Low power consumption - According to Crucial the drive uses about 25% less power than its previous Gen5 drives, which also suits laptops.
• Micron G9 memory - Ninth-generation Micron 3D NAND with a Phison E31T controller in a DRAM-less design.
• 600TBW endurance - A write rating of up to 600 terabytes for the 1TB model, with S.M.A.R.T. monitoring and ECC error correction.
• Version without a heatsink - The part number CT1000P510SSD8 is the version without a heatsink, in a single-sided design suitable for laptops. The heatsink version has a different part number.
