The Samsung 990 PRO is an M.2 2280 SSD with a PCIe 4.0 x4 interface and the NVMe 2.0 protocol that uses almost the full capability of PCIe 4.0: sequential reads of up to 7,450MB/s and writes of up to 6,900MB/s. It combines a Samsung in-house controller, Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC and a 1GB LPDDR4 cache.

A nickel-coated controller, a heat spreader label and Dynamic Thermal Guard keep temperatures balanced and performance sustained, and the slim drive suits both desktops and laptops. Samsung Magician software lets you monitor the drive, migrate data and update firmware.
