The Western Digital WD_BLACK SN850X 1TB (part number WDS100T2X0E) is an internal M.2 2280 SSD with a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface. It uses TLC 3D NAND flash and reaches sequential read speeds of up to 7,300 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,300 MB/s.

The drive is aimed mainly at gaming PCs and at computers where short load times for games and applications matter, and it fits any computer with an M.2 M-key 2280 slot and PCIe Gen4 support.

This model is sold without a heatsink. The manufacturer lists a feature set that includes Predictive Loading, Overheat Balancing and Adaptive Thermal Management, plus Microsoft DirectStorage support; the WD_BLACK Dashboard software enables Game Mode 2.0 and monitors drive health.
