| Revew | iStorage datAshur Personal2 16GB Encrypted USB Flash DriveThe iStorage datAshur Personal2 is an affordable USB 3.2 Gen 1 encrypted flash drive that protects your files even if the drive is lost or stolen. You unlock it with a PIN typed on the keypad on the drive itself, so no software or driver is needed and it works with any operating system. This model has a capacity of 16GB. All data on the drive is encrypted in hardware with the AES-XTS 256-bit algorithm validated to FIPS PUB 197. The drive is small and light at about 20 g, and suits personal use and small businesses.
Key features- Full hardware encryption - AES-XTS 256-bit full disk encryption is performed in hardware with an algorithm validated to FIPS PUB 197. When the drive is unplugged, all data stays encrypted.
- PIN authentication - A PIN of 7 to 15 digits is entered on the alphanumeric keypad on the drive. Separate user and admin PINs let an administrator restore access if the user forgets the PIN.
- Brute force defence - After 10 wrong user PIN entries in a row the user PIN is deleted and the drive can be opened only with the admin PIN. 10 wrong admin PIN entries erase the PIN, the encryption key and all data. The keypad also hides which keys are used most often.
- Auto-lock - The drive locks when it is unplugged or when power to the port is cut, and an auto-lock can be set for 1 to 99 minutes of inactivity.
- Works with any system - No software installation is required. The drive works with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Chrome and embedded systems, can be plugged into any device with a USB port, and an operating system can be booted from it.
- Fast and compact - USB 3.2 Gen 1 with read speeds of up to 170MB/s and write speeds of up to 133MB/s, in a small body that weighs about 20 g.
