| Revew | iStorage datAshur PRO2 8GB Encrypted USB Flash DriveThe iStorage datAshur PRO2 is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 encrypted flash drive built for storing and carrying sensitive data. You unlock it with a PIN typed on the keypad on the drive itself, so it does not depend on the computer, the operating system or any software. This model has a capacity of 8GB. The drive combines a Common Criteria EAL5+ secure microprocessor, full hardware encryption and an epoxy resin coating that makes it hard to open. It suits organizations, mobile staff and anyone who has to carry confidential files and meet data protection rules such as GDPR and HIPAA.
Key features- Full hardware encryption - All data on the drive is protected by AES-XTS 256-bit full disk encryption in hardware, with no software or driver needed. When the drive is unplugged, everything stays encrypted.
- PIN authentication on a built-in keypad - A PIN of 7 to 15 digits is entered on a wear resistant, polymer coated keypad. Separate user and admin PINs let an administrator restore access if the user forgets the PIN.
- Secure microprocessor and FIPS 140-2 Level 3 - The Common Criteria EAL5+ secure microprocessor generates true random numbers and protects the encryption key. The drive is FIPS 140-2 Level 3 validated and has a tamper evident design.
- Brute force defence - After 10 wrong user PIN entries in a row the user PIN is deleted, and 10 wrong admin PIN entries erase all data. You can also set a self-destruct PIN and an inactivity auto-lock.
- IP68 protection - The aluminium housing survives immersion in 1.5 m of water for 30 minutes, as well as dust, dirt and sand.
- Works with any system - No software installation is required. The drive works with Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, Chrome and embedded systems, and it supports a read-only mode that protects against writing and malware infection.
