| Revew | iStorage datAshur PRO+C 32GB Encrypted USB Flash DriveThe iStorage datAshur PRO+C is a USB 3.2 Gen 1 encrypted flash drive with a USB Type-C connector, supplied with a Type-C to Type-A adapter so it also fits older computers. The PIN is entered on the keypad on the drive before it is plugged in, so no software or driver is needed. This model has a capacity of 32GB. According to the manufacturer it is the first flash drive in the world to receive FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation. It also carries NLNCSA BSPA certification, an IP68 aluminium housing and read speeds of up to 300MB/s.
Key features- USB Type-C with an adapter - The drive plugs straight into the USB-C port of laptops, tablets and smartphones. A Type-C to Type-A adapter is included, so the drive also works with USB-A ports.
- Full hardware encryption - AES-XTS 256-bit full disk encryption is performed in hardware, without software. When the drive is unplugged, all data stays encrypted.
- PIN authentication - A PIN of 8 to 15 digits is entered on the built-in keypad, which is powered by a rechargeable battery. You can set separate user and admin PINs and switch on a read-only mode.
- FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validation - The drive is FIPS 140-3 Level 3 validated and NLNCSA BSPA certified. Its components are covered in epoxy resin and the design reveals any attempt to open it.
- Brute force defence - After 10 wrong user PIN entries in a row the user PIN is deleted and the drive can be opened only with the admin PIN. 10 wrong admin PIN entries erase all data. An auto-lock can be set for 1 to 99 minutes of inactivity.
- Fast and IP68 rated - Read speeds of up to 300MB/s and write speeds of up to 280MB/s. The aluminium housing survives immersion in 1.5 m of water for 30 minutes, as well as dust and sand.
