Intel Ethernet Network Adapter X710-T2L for OCP 3.0

The Intel Ethernet Network Adapter X710-T2L for OCP 3.0 is a dual-port network card in the OCP NIC 3.0 Small Form Factor, for servers that support this standard. Its two RJ45 ports run at 10GBASE-T speeds down to 100Mbps over standard copper cabling.

Auto-negotiation between speeds makes a gradual move from a 1GbE network to 10GbE easier, and virtualization features such as SR-IOV and VMDq suit environments with many virtual machines. The card is based on the Intel Ethernet Controller X710-AT2.

Key features

• OCP NIC 3.0 form factor - A Small Form Factor of 115 by 76 mm for servers with an OCP 3.0 slot, without taking up a regular PCIe slot.
• Two 10GBASE-T ports - Speeds of 10Gbps, 5Gbps, 2.5Gbps, 1Gbps and 100Mbps over copper cabling with RJ45 connectors. For 10GBASE-T the distance is up to 55 meters on CAT6 and up to 100 meters on CAT6A.
• Low power use - At 10GbE typical power is 8.8W and maximum 9.5W, with Energy Efficient Ethernet (IEEE 802.3az) support.
• Hardware virtualization - SR-IOV with up to 128 virtual functions per device (64 per port), VMDq for 256 virtual machines and offloads for VxLAN, GENEVE, NVGRE, MPLS and VxLAN-GPE with NSH.
• Efficient packet processing - Intel Ethernet Flow Director and Dynamic Device Personalization together with DPDK improve packet processing in cloud and NFV workloads.
• PCIe 3.0 x8 interface - An 8 GT/s link with eight lanes to the server, and PXE and UEFI support for network boot.
