Range Extender TP-Link TL-WA850RE

TP-Link TL-WA850RE Range Extender

The TP-Link TL-WA850RE is a wall-plug wireless range extender that boosts your existing Wi-Fi network into areas the router cannot reach on its own. It works on 802.11n at 2.4GHz with speeds of up to 300Mbps and two internal antennas.

Setup is simple: press the WPS button on the router and the Range Extender button on the device. Five signal lights help find the best location, and the Ethernet port lets you connect a wired device such as a smart TV or a game console.

Key features

• Extended Wi-Fi coverage - The extender connects to the router wirelessly and passes the signal on to rooms and areas with weak reception, while reducing interference.
• One-button setup - Press the WPS button on the router and the Range Extender button on the device within two minutes to join the network. Once set up, it can be moved to another outlet without reconfiguring.
• Signal strength lights - Five lights show the strength of the signal received from the router. A location where at least three lights are on is recommended.
• Ethernet port - A 10/100Mbps port lets the extender work as a wireless adapter for wired devices such as Blu-ray players, game consoles and smart TVs.
• Tether app management - The Tether app for iOS and Android manages the extender from a phone, including a Night Mode that turns the lights off.
• Small size - It measures 110 x 65.8 x 75.2mm and uses about 3W. It plugs straight into a wall outlet.
