| Revew | Elgato Wave:3 MK.2 USB MicrophoneThe Elgato Wave:3 MK.2 is a USB condenser microphone for streaming, podcasts, recording and video calls. A 16 mm cardioid capsule focuses on the speaker's voice and rejects noise from the sides and rear, and an internal pop filter reduces plosives. It records at 24-bit and 48kHz with 110dB of dynamic range. At its core is the Wave FX Processor, built with LEWITT Audio. It combines Clipguard 2.0 anti-distortion, DSP effects that run on the mic itself and VST Inserts support through the free Wave Link app. A multifunction dial with an LED ring, Auto Gain and tap to mute give quick control without opening any software.
Key features- 16 mm cardioid capsule - Focused pickup from the front that rejects noise from the sides and rear, a 70-20,000Hz frequency response and an internal pop filter. Speak into the front of the mic from about 10-20 cm.
- Clipguard 2.0 - Anti-distortion technology that protects recordings from shouts and sudden loud sounds, with a maximum SPL of 130dB.
- Wave FX and onboard effects - Effects such as EQ and compression run on the mic itself, and settings are stored on the device for use on any computer. VST Inserts add effects that work in every app without virtual devices.
- Controls on the mic - A multifunction dial for gain, Voice Tune, headphone volume and monitor mix, an LED ring with real-time levels, Auto Gain to find the right gain level and tap to mute on the top.
- Zero-latency monitoring - A 3.5 mm headphone jack for zero-latency monitoring of your voice and computer audio, with two monitoring modes: DSP-processed or with all VST effects applied.
- Ready to mount - Desk stand included, plus a 1/4-inch thread with 5/8 and 3/8 inch adapters for mic arms. Connects over USB-C to Windows 11 or macOS 14.2 and later.
