Internal Laptop HDD Seagate Momentus Thin ST500LT012 2.5" 500GB Condition:Used

Internal Laptop HDD Seagate Momentus Thin ST500LT012

The Seagate ST500LT012 is a 2.5-inch 500GB internal hard drive from the Laptop Thin HDD family, formerly called Momentus Thin. Seagate describes it as its first 7 mm drive family, combining a SATA 6Gb/s interface with the standard 7 mm form factor for easy integration into existing laptops. This drive is used and has been tested in our lab.

It suits replacing a notebook drive, including slim models that only have room for a 7 mm drive, and use in a 2.5-inch external enclosure.

The model uses one platter with two heads, perpendicular recording and 4096-byte physical sectors with a 512-byte logical interface, plus a 16MB cache and NCQ support. A fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) motor keeps it quiet, and low power idle draws only 0.45W.
