The HGST Travelstar Z5K320 HTS543232A7A384 is a 2.5-inch 320GB internal hard drive only 7 mm thin. The full capacity sits on a single disk, and according to the manufacturer the model is designed as a direct replacement for standard 9.5 mm drives in notebooks, external storage and gaming consoles, as well as for thinner devices. This drive is used and has been tested in our lab.

It suits replacing a failed notebook drive, bringing an older laptop back to work or building an external backup drive in a 2.5-inch enclosure. The SATA 3Gb/s interface also works with newer SATA controllers.

The drive spins at 5400 RPM, draws 1.6W in read/write and only 0.55W in low power idle, and is very quiet at 1.9 Bels idle. TrueTrack technology keeps performance stable in high shock and vibration environments.
