Internal Laptop HDD Seagate Momentus ST9250315AS 2.5" 250GB Condition:Used

Internal Laptop HDD Seagate ST9250315AS

The Seagate ST9250315AS is a 2.5-inch 250GB hard drive from the Momentus 5400.6 family for notebooks. It connects over SATA 3Gb/s with Native Command Queuing, spins at 5400 RPM and has an 8MB cache. This drive is used and has been tested in our lab.

It suits replacing the drive in a notebook with a standard 9.5 mm bay, bringing an older laptop back to work or use in a 2.5-inch external enclosure.

The model uses one platter with two heads and perpendicular recording. A fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) motor keeps it quiet, and ramp load with QuietStep moves the heads off the disk during idle periods, which saves power and adds durability.

Key features

• Perpendicular recording, one platter - Perpendicular recording technology keeps all 250GB on a single platter with two heads.
• SATA 3Gb/s with NCQ - Burst transfer rates up to 3Gb/s, and Native Command Queuing orders commands for more efficient data access.
• Ramp load and QuietStep - The heads are removed from the disk during idle periods, improving idle power and durability, and QuietStep keeps load/unload quiet.
• Quiet operation - A fluid dynamic bearing (FDB) motor and typical acoustics of 2.4 Bels idle and 2.6 Bels seek.
• Shock tolerance - 350G operating and 1000G non-operating shock ratings.
• Monitoring and diagnostics - S.M.A.R.T. support, the 3D Defense System and SeaTools for a drive self-test.
