The ROG Crosshair X870E Hero BTF is an ATX board for the AMD AM5 platform, built around the BTF idea of hidden connectors for an exceptionally clean look. It pairs a powerful power array, AI-based tuning and Polymo Lighting II, targeting Ryzen 9000-series gaming systems.

Platform & chipset

The board is built on the AM5 socket and the X870E chipset, supporting current Ryzen processors. The BTF design routes power, USB and fan connectors to the rear of the board for tidy cable management, and adds a dedicated graphics-card power slot that delivers up to 600W straight through the motherboard. A PCIe 5.0 x16 slot provides bandwidth for current-generation graphics cards.

Memory & expansion

Four DDR5 slots with NitroPath DRAM technology and AEMP support allow capacities up to 256GB alongside high performance. On the storage side there are three onboard M.2 connectors at PCIe Gen 5, leaving plenty of room for very fast NVMe drives and a balanced split between memory and storage.

Power, cooling & connectivity

An 18+2+2 power-stage array works together with ASUS tuning technologies: AI Cache Boost for easy acceleration and AI Cooling II for one-click fan tuning. Connectivity includes USB4, USB 2.0, 3.2 and Type-C ports, Wi-Fi 7 wireless networking, and an EZ PC DIY mechanism for convenient, straightforward assembly.
