The X870E AORUS XTREME X3D AI TOP is a flagship ATX board for the AMD AM5 platform, aimed at high-performance systems and AI workloads. Built on the X870E chipset, it offers an exceptionally wide power array, fast connectivity and an integrated display.

Platform & chipset

The board uses the AM5 socket and supports AMD Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors. X3D Turbo Mode 2.0 is accelerated by AI and even allows local AI model training, while DriverBIOS preinstalls the Wi-Fi driver for immediate network access. A CPU Thermal Matrix delivers aggressive cooling to the VRM and DDR areas, and the BIOS stays convenient with multiple themes and Q-Flash Auto Scan.

Memory & expansion

The layout includes four DIMM slots for dual-channel DDR5 memory with AMD EXPO support and overclock tuning up to 9000MT/s, and the DDR Wind Blade XTREME adds active memory cooling. Storage spans five M.2 slots, one of them PCIe 5.0 x4, with EZ-Latch Plus and EZ-Latch Click mechanisms for screwless installation. The primary graphics slot is a Titanium PCIe UD Slot X running PCIe 5.0 x16 with titanium reinforcement for maximum protection.

Power, cooling & connectivity

The digital VRM uses an unusually wide 24+2+2 phase arrangement, backed by VRM Thermal Armor Advanced and M.2 Thermal Guard XTREME. For networking, the board offers dual 10GbE LAN and Wi-Fi 7 with a directional high-gain antenna. The rear panel carries HDMI and two USB4 Type-C ports with DP-Alt, a front 65W QC-USB charging port, an ESS audio stack with DTS:X Ultra, and a 5-inch LCD Edge View display.
