The B840M D3HP is a Micro ATX board for the AMD AM5 platform, built on the B840 chipset and aimed at balanced builds using DDR5 memory. It combines a digital power array, fast storage and multiple display outputs in a compact layout.

Platform & chipset

The board uses the AMD AM5 socket and supports Ryzen 9000, 8000 and 7000 series processors, making it suitable for a fresh build as well as an upgrade. X3D Turbo Mode is aimed at extracting higher gaming performance from current-generation chips. The BIOS stays convenient with multiple themes, AIO fan control and automatic Q-Flash scanning.

Memory & expansion

The board is equipped with four DIMM slots for dual-channel DDR5 memory, with support for AMD EXPO modules and overclock tuning up to 8200MT/s. Storage includes two M.2 slots, one of them PCIe 4.0 x4, alongside a SATA3 interface for additional drives. The PCIe and M.2 slots feature the EZ-Latch quick-release mechanism.

Power, cooling & connectivity

The digital VRM is arranged in an 8+2+2 phase layout and backed by VRM Thermal Armor Advanced and M.2 Thermal Guard to keep temperatures in check under load. On networking, the board offers Gigabit LAN. Display outputs include HDMI and two DisplayPort connectors, and the I/O panel carries USB 2.0, USB 3.2 and USB Type-C.
