Internal Hard Drive Seagate Exos X18 ST18000NM000J 3.5" 18TB 18TB

Seagate ST18000NM000J Internal Hard Drive

The Seagate Exos X18 ST18000NM000J is a 18TB 3.5-inch enterprise hard drive with a SATA 6Gb/s interface, a 7200RPM spindle speed and a 256MB cache. It is designed for servers, cloud and data centers, high-density RAID storage, backup systems and centralized surveillance.

The drive uses a helium-sealed design that lowers power consumption and weight, relies on conventional magnetic recording (CMR) and reaches a sustained transfer rate of up to 270MB/s. It is rated for 24x7 operation with an MTBF of 2.5 million hours and an annualized failure rate (AFR) of 0.35%.

Key features

• 18TB in a single drive - High capacity in a standard 3.5-inch form factor lets you store more data in every server and rack and reduce the number of drives you need.
• Helium-sealed design - Helium lowers power consumption and weight, and proven side-sealing weld technology adds handling robustness and leak protection. PowerBalance and PowerChoice balance performance against power use.
• Performance for heavy workloads - 7200RPM, a 256MB cache and a sustained transfer rate of up to 270MB/s. The SATA model is tuned for large data transfers and low latency.
• Enterprise reliability - An MTBF of 2,500,000 hours, a 0.35% AFR and 8,760 power-on hours per year. Digital environmental sensors monitor conditions inside the drive.
• FastFormat and firmware security - The drive ships in 512e format and can be switched to 4Kn with FastFormat (this erases all data). RSA 3072 firmware verification and hot-plug support.
