Corsair MP700 PRO with Air Cooler SSD

The Corsair MP700 PRO with Air Cooler is a PCIe Gen5 x4 SSD with the NVMe 2.0 protocol, a Phison E26 controller and high-density 3D TLC NAND, supplied with its own heatsink and fan. At 1TB it reaches sequential reads of up to 11,700MB/s and writes of up to 9,600MB/s.

The active cooling protects the drive from thermal throttling even when the motherboard has no suitable M.2 heatsink, and Corsair says the fan is very quiet. The drive suits gaming PCs and workstations and supports Microsoft DirectStorage.

Key features

• Gen5 speed - Sequential reads of up to 11,700MB/s and writes of up to 9,600MB/s at 1TB, with random performance of up to 1,400K IOPS read and 1,500K IOPS write. Corsair rates the MP700 PRO series at up to 75% faster than PCIe 4.0 SSDs and up to 20 times some SATA SSDs.
• Active air cooling - The heatsink and fan add about 28 mm to the drive height. The fan is powered by a 450 mm SATA power cable, so it does not take up a motherboard fan header, and Corsair says it is barely audible above the other case fans.
• Phison E26 with DRAM - A Phison PS5026-E26 controller with a 2GB DRAM cache and high-density 3D TLC NAND combines high performance with an endurance of 700TB written (TBW).
• Microsoft DirectStorage - In supported games the drive sends data directly to the graphics card for very short load times. Requires a DirectX 12 GPU with Shader Model 6.0 support.
• Compatibility - The M.2 2280 drive fits PCIe Gen5 slots on select Intel Z690, Z790 and AMD 600 series motherboards. It is backward compatible with PCIe Gen4 and Gen3 at lower performance.
• Reliability and management - An MTBF of 1.6 million hours, AES 256-bit encryption and CORSAIR SSD Toolbox software for drive monitoring and firmware updates.
