The Samsung 990 PRO is a PCIe 4.0 x4 NVMe drive that uses nearly all the bandwidth of the interface, for desktop PCs, workstations and game consoles. The 2TB MZ-V9P2T0BW reaches sequential reads of up to 7,450MB/s, sequential writes of up to 6,900MB/s and up to 1,400K random read IOPS.

The slim M.2 2280 drive has no heatsink and combines V-NAND TLC, a Samsung controller and a 2GB LPDDR4 cache. A nickel-coated controller, a heat spreader label and Dynamic Thermal Guard keep temperatures in check, and Samsung Magician lets you update firmware and monitor drive health.
