| Revew | TP-Link Tapo C425 KIT 2K QHD Solar-Powered Security Camera KitThe Tapo C425 KIT is a wire-free outdoor security kit from TP-Link that includes a Tapo C425 camera with a built-in rechargeable battery and a Tapo A201 solar panel that keeps it charged. According to TP-Link, 45 minutes of direct sunlight a day is enough to power the camera all day, and a full battery lasts up to 300 days in typical use. The camera records in 2K QHD at 2560 x 1440 pixels, with a Starlight sensor, a wide field of view and color night vision from its built-in white LEDs. It detects people, pets and vehicles, connects over 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, is IP66 water and dust resistant and stores footage on a microSD card of up to 512GB or in Tapo Care cloud storage.
Key features- Wire-free solar power - The Tapo A201 panel charges the built-in battery through a Type-C port (up to 5.2V and 2.5W), so no power outlet is needed near the camera.
- Wide-angle 2K QHD - 2560 x 1440 pixels at up to 30 frames per second, a 2.1 mm lens and a 150° diagonal, 134° horizontal and 77° vertical field of view.
- Color night vision - A 1/3-inch Starlight sensor, 4 white LEDs and 4 infrared LEDs give color images at night or infrared vision up to 15 m.
- AI detection - PIR motion sensing with 130° horizontal coverage, person, pet and vehicle detection and activity zones to reduce false alerts.
- Alarm and two-way audio - A 94dB siren plus a built-in microphone and speaker for two-way talk with noise cancellation.
- IP66 and flexible storage - The camera withstands rain and dust with an IP66 rating and works from -20°C to 45°C. Footage is saved to a microSD card of up to 512GB (sold separately) or to Tapo Care cloud storage.
