| Revew | Access Point Ruckus R550The Ruckus R550 is an indoor Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) access point for medium-density environments such as classrooms, residence halls, hallways and offices. It runs dual-band 2.4GHz and 5GHz 2x2:2 MU-MIMO with OFDMA and TWT, data rates up to 1,774Mbps and support for up to 512 concurrent clients. Adaptive BeamFlex+ antennas and ChannelFly improve coverage and throughput. The AP includes two Gigabit ports, a built-in IoT radio for Bluetooth LE and Zigbee and a USB port for expansion, and can be managed via SmartZone, ZoneDirector, Unleashed, the cloud or as a standalone unit.
Key features- Wi-Fi 6 for 512 clients - Dual-band 2x2:2 MU-MIMO with OFDMA and TWT, peak PHY rates up to 1,200Mbps at 5GHz and 574Mbps at 2.4GHz, and up to 31 SSIDs.
- BeamFlex+ antennas - Adaptive antennas with up to 64 patterns per band and polarization diversity that extend coverage and reduce interference.
- Built-in IoT - Built-in Bluetooth LE or Zigbee radio (one switchable radio) and a USB 2.0 port for additional wireless technologies.
- Two Gigabit ports - Two 1GbE ports with PoE input: on 802.3at all functions are active, on 802.3af the AP runs at reduced power.
- ChannelFly and SmartMesh - Machine-learning selection of the least congested channels and a self-forming, self-healing mesh network.
- Management of choice - Support for SmartZone and ZoneDirector controllers, controller-less Unleashed, cloud management and standalone mode, with spectrum analysis and SpeedFlex diagnostics.
